AG candidate Robertson announces $1.25M raised in June

This is a picture of Katherine Robertson.

Republican Katherine Robertson raised $1.25 million in June after announcing her candidacy for Alabama attorney general.

Of that, $1 million came from First Principles Action, Inc., a non-profit in Nashville run by the former executive director of the Republican Attorneys General Association.

Other major contributions to Robertson included two totaling $45,000 from the North Alabama PAC in Huntsville. Chaired by Steve Raby, the PAC supports candidates who promote economic development.

“It is heartening to have earned the confidence of so many individuals who care deeply about what we do,” Robertson said Wednesday in a written statement. She is currently chief counsel for current Attorney General Steve Marshall, who is term limited and has endorsed her in the race.

“Working in the AG’s Office is a true honor. I see this early support as affirmation of all that we have accomplished over the last eight-and-a-half years to make our state safer and our country freer. With a great team behind me, I am ready to carry this early momentum all the way to the finish line next year.”

On Tuesday, AG candidate Jay Mitchell said he had about $1.25 million on hand at the end of June. He’d raised about half of that and moved about $638,000 from his previous judicial campaign fund to his new campaign account, according to reports available online.

Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey is also running. A June fundraising report wasn’t available for her early Wednesday afternoon.

The Republican primary is May 19.
