Jared White has been promoted to Auburn University’s vice president of governmental affairs, a position that will have him oversee the university’s range of lobbying activities at the state and federal level.
The announcement came from Auburn President Chris Roberts, who said the appointment is effective immediately.
“I have been highly impressed with Jared’s deep understanding of governmental affairs and his commitment to advancing Auburn’s mission through meaningful relationships and partnerships,” Roberts said.
White had been leading Auburn’s state government activities as executive director of government affairs since 2019. Previous to his time on Auburn’s staff, White worked as director of legislative affairs for Gov. Kay Ivey and held various other positions on the governor’s staff since 2014.
“We have extremely talented teams in Washington, D.C., and Montgomery, and I am privileged to work with them to continually advance Auburn’s mission,” White said.
Auburn last year announced that Andy Newton would lead its new Washington lobbying office. C.J. Hincy, Christian Becraft and Dawn Richardson are on Auburn’s state lobbying team.
