Case Dixon launches campaign video to challenge Gary Palmer

WASHINGTON — Case Dixon, a physical therapist assistant and Alabama native, released a campaign video Wednesday for his candidacy for Alabama’s Sixth Congressional District.

Dixon will challenge U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer, R-Birmingham, in the Republican primary. Elected in 2014, Palmar is serving his sixth term.

Dixon, a husband and father of two, calls himself “the most conservative candidate in the race” for the congressional seat.

“The birth of my first daughter completely changed everything,” Dixon said in a press release. “She is counting on me to protect her.”

His campaign video opens with the candidate calling out Republicans for passing President Donald Trump’s tax cut bill over his concerns that the bill will add to the nation’s debt. The Congressional Budget Office estimates the bill will add $3.4 trillion to the deficit over the next decade.

“I’m tired of broken promises,” Dixon said in the video. “Tired of people like Gary Palmer who promise one thing and do another. Thanks to people like him, our debt and spending are up, not down.”

Dixon’s campaign website features multiple issues, including ethics reform, fiscal responsibility, pharma reform, supporting families by cutting taxes and protecting life and liberty.

“I support banning individual stock trading by members of Congress and their families, ensuring no more insider profit from public service,” the website says. “I support ending the abuse of leadership PACs, which have become little more than slush funds for luxury and excess.”

He also supports a nationwide abortion ban, according to his website.

“Guided by conservative Christian values, I will always stand with the principles of liberty and the Constitution,” Dixon said in the video.

Dixon graduated from Jefferson State Community College in 2021. He has worked in healthcare for seven years.

Dixon officially filed to run for office in March, according to an FEC filing. The latest campaign finance report, which accounts for fundraising and spending up until the end of March, shows that Dixon received an $8,600 loan and $186.91 in contributions. He had $5,278.41 cash on hand.

Palmer had nearly $156,000 on hand at the end of March.
