Marshall raises $406K in his 2026 bid for U.S. Senate

WASHINGTON — Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall raised more than $406,000 in the first month of his 2026 campaign for Alabama’s open U.S. Senate seat.

The Republican candidate brought in $406, 318 between late May and the end of June, according to his latest campaign finance report. The majority of Marshall’s contributions came from individual donations totaling $391,318. He received $15,000 from three PAC contributions.

The U.S. Senate seat in Alabama opened up this year after Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., launched a gubernatorial bid. The campaign finance reports that were due Tuesday provide the first snapshot of fundraising numbers for the 2026 campaign for Alabama’s open Senate seat. It’s the second open Senate in four years in the state.

“Tammy and I are extremely grateful for the outpouring of support we’ve received from people all across Alabama,” Marshall said in a statement.

“As Attorney General, it’s an honor to fight alongside President Trump and champion his America First Agenda — protecting the integrity of women’s sports, standing strong against illegal immigration, defending our Second Amendment rights, protecting the unborn, backing law enforcement and standing up for law and order.

“As your next Senator, I’ll keep fighting for President Trump’s vision for our country and be a fierce advocate for Alabama families, farmers and small businesses — to spur economic growth and create good-paying jobs to keep Alabama Strong. Together, we’ll deliver America First policies that move our state forward.”

Marshall’s campaign had $382,954 cash on hand at the end of June. He’d spent $23,364, with $13,364 of that for operating expenditures.

Former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson, who is also vying for the Republican nomination, raised $209,721, according to his latest campaign finance report. All of his contributions are from individual donations. Hudson had $201,125 in cash on hand.

Hudson’s campaign for Senate spent $8,596 on operating expenses.

Mobile businessman and Democratic candidate Kyle Sweetser raised $57,800, according to his latest FEC filing. He launched his campaign for U.S. Senate in April. The majority of his fundraising came from individual contributions at $47,650. He received two PAC donations totaling $10,000, including one from the No Labels PAC.

Sweetser’s campaign had $11,488 cash on hand and spent $46,312 as of the end of June.
