By TODD STACY, Alabama Daily News

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – A new episode of Spotlight on Education aired last night on Alabama Public Television – did you catch it?

Spotlight is our quarterly show focuses on education policy, programs and progress.

State Superintendent Eric Mackey discussed the promising NAEP scores and how the state can build on that progress. Emily Schultz of Alabama Families for Great Schools explained the latest with charter schools in the state and what they need to continue their success. And Dr. Jimmy Hull, Assistant Superintendent for Career Technical Education and Workforce Development, walked viewers through all the state is doing to connect students with real-world jobs.

Karen Goldsmith had a package looking at the conversion charter schools now online in Montgomery, and I had my very first package for air looking at Alabama as a leader in the workforce development and career training space.
