Marshall launches digital ad for Senate campaign touting his record

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall’s campaign for U.S. Senate released a digital ad Tuesday as he ramps up his advertising ahead of the May 19 Republican primary.

The 30-second ad titled “Gets it Done” highlights his work as the state’s top law enforcement official.

“Taking on Washington and winning,” the ad states. “Standing up to the radical left, protecting our children and putting criminals behind bars.”

It also calls out outside spending groups that have poured millions into ads to support Rep. Barry Moore’s Senate bid, including one that directly attacked Marshall’s record.

“Out-of-state billionaires are trying to buy this election,” the ad states. “Steve Marshall’s taken them on before and won.”

Marshall’s campaign did not say how much it is spending on this digital ad buy. According to online records, the campaign has not made any purchases with an Alabama broadcast television station.

Marshall’s new spot is the first time he’s released an ad since the start of the year. Other Alabama Republican Senate hopefuls, including Moore and former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson, and the Super PACs supporting them, have been launching ad buys throughout the past few weeks.

Republicans Seth Burton, Dale Shelton Deas Jr. and Rodney Walker are also running to replace Sen. Tommy Tuberville.

Recent polling shows the Senate race will likely be a tight three-way battle between Moore, Marshall and Hudson.

The latest campaign finance reports show Marshall trails Moore and Hudson in fundraising totals.
