WASHINGTON — State Rep. Rhett Marques has raised more than $500,000 since launching his bid for Alabama’s First Congressional District in late August, his campaign announced Tuesday.
Marques, a Republican from Enterprise, and former Rep. Jerry Carl, R-Mobile, who previously held the First District seat, are vying to replace Rep. Barry Moore, R-Enterprise, who is running for U.S. Senate in 2026.
Federal campaign finance reports are due today are for the third quarter of 2025, from July to September. Carl’s campaign did not release its fundraising numbers ahead of the deadline.
“I am grateful for the outpouring of support I have received from across the district,” Marques said in a statement. “Most of our donors live in Alabama and that shows my message of going to Washington, D.C. to support President Trump, Senator Britt and the entire Republican congressional delegation is resonating with voters from the coast to the Wiregrass.”
Marques’ campaign said most of his donations are from Alabama. He’s received support from Sen. Katie Britt, and several of his state lawmaker colleagues.
Alabama’s 1st District runs across the state’s most southern counties.
Marques has represented Enterprise in the Alabama House since 2018.
