Gov. Kay Ivey and other top state officials will tour Hurricane Sally damage today in south Alabama.
Ivey plans to do helicopter tours of destruction in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Fort Morgan and Dauphin Island.
Alabama Emergency Management Agency Director Brian Hastings, Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Commissioner Chris Blankenship, Congressman Bradley Byrne and local officials will join Ivey for a briefing on the Category 2 hurricane’s wind and flooding damage to the coast and recovery efforts.
Separately, Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth on Thursday said he was going to the badly damaged coast to help with recovery efforts and meet with state senators from the region.
