Tim Howe, a long-time fixture in Alabama politics and campaigns, will soon be the Business Council of Alabama’s chief advocacy officer.
“Tim Howe is one of the most capable and respected leaders in Alabama’s public affairs arena. His depth of experience, strategic insight, and proven ability to navigate complex policy environments will be an extraordinary asset to BCA and the businesses we represent,” BCA President Helena Duncan said in a statement Friday.
Starting next month, Howe will help guide the council’s strategic initiatives, support advocacy efforts on behalf of its members and work on policy with state and local leaders.
Howe has a law degree from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Clemson University.
Howe spent two years as chief of staff for the Senate president pro tem, leaving that post in July to run Garlan Gudger’s incumbent protection political action committee. Howe is a previous owner of Yellowhammer Multimedia and former executive director of the Alabama Republican Party. He also has a financial background and was vice president at Stifel, a financial advising firm in Montgomery.
