MONTGOMERY, Ala. – This week on Capitol Journal, we covered the second round of informal budget hearings at the State House as well as the World Games opening in Birmingham.
Senate Minority Leader Bobby Singleton joined me in studio to discuss the state’s finances, the latest with the prison construction plan and his take on the recent primary elections.
Alabama Republican Party Chairman John Wahl talked about the dramatic last few weeks for ALGOP from the various election challenges, including in SD27. He also answered my questions about the idea of closed primaries.
And I was pleased to welcome Tiffany Davis, a rising senior at Clay-Chalkville High School who is one of only three PBS NewsHour Gwen Ifill fellows in the nation. We discussed her interest in broadcast journalism and then Tiffany had a few questions of her own.
