Capitol Journal – February 6, 2026

Did you catch Capitol Journal this week? It’s a good show!

We’ve been putting more of an emphasis on reviewing the news and conversations of the week as opposed to stacking the show with mostly interviews. I think there’s a good balance this week.

Alex Angle reports from Capitol Hill on the latest with DHS funding negotiations and the Alabama delegation’s involvement. Jeff Sanders reports from the Senate on the bill allowing the death penalty for child rapists that is headed to the governor’s desk. Randy Scott reports from the House on its activity, including Rep. Barbara Boyd’s DUI bill that has hits home personally.

State Rep. Rhett Marques joins me to talk about his mud-dumbing bill that passed this week and his race for Congress in AL-1.

State Rep. Adline Clarke sits down to discuss her voting bills, including one that would allow early voting in Alabama.

Watch all that and more online below.
