MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is looking for information after a makeshift barge carrying fireworks caught fire on Lake Martin on Saturday night.
The vessel did not have a motor attached and was anchored in place when it caught fire at around 8:45 p.m. on Independence Day. It was being used as a platform for launching fireworks on the Elmore County lake.
ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division is seeking details about the owner of the vessel and the incident itself. Anyone with information should contact the division at [email protected].
