Alabama attorney general candidate Jay Mitchell has released his first television ad of the 2026 race, themed on his basketball background and commitment to conservative principles.
“As a former college basketball player, I block bad shots for a living,” Mitchell says on camera, holding a basketball in a gymnasium. “Me in girl’s sports? Rejected. Woke, anti-White non-sense? Outta here. Trump derangement syndrome? Not in my house.”

The Mitchell campaign did not release information about how much money is behind the ad buy. According to the most recent fundraising reports, Mitchell has $2.67 million cash on hand in his campaign account.
Mitchell is in a hotly contested primary campaign with Katherine Robertson, the current chief counsel for Attorney General Steve Marshall, and Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey.
The three candidates participated in a debate Thursday night.
