MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama is hosting Cook Political Report editor-in-chief and publisher Amy Walter as part of its 2026 speaker series.
The event will take place on Sept. 24 at Red Mountain Theatre Arts Campus in Birmingham.
Walter is an award-winning political analyst known for her eerily accurate election predictions. She was previously named one of the top 50 journalists and 50 most powerful women in the nation’s capital by Washingtonian magazine. Walter also won the Washington Post’s Crystal Ball Award for her election predictions.
“The Speaker Series brings a national perspective to Alabama’s civic leaders,” PARCA Executive Director Ryan Hankins told Alabama Daily News. “There’s no shortage of noise in a year like this one, and Amy Walter is one of the few analysts who can cut through it and tell us what the data shows.”
Walter will offer her analysis of what the post-midterm political landscape might hold for the country during the event.
“She has spent her career explaining American politics without picking a side — which is very much PARCA’s purpose, too: helping people make decisions based on facts rather than assumptions,” Hankins said.
The event will include a pre-show reception for VIP ticket holders and dessert bar and meet-and-greet after the program. VIP admission opens at 5:30 p.m., and general admission starts at 6:45 p.m.
