New Kay Ivey ad touts economy, corruption clean up

By TODD STACY, Alabama Daily News

Governor Kay Ivey has a new campaign ad up on television touting Alabama’s economic gains and her role in cleaning up “the mess” since becoming governor.

Standing on a farm, Ivey references how her country upbringing afforded her discernment in knowing fact from fiction.

“You learn a lot growing up on a cattle farm and not just about cows. Don’t give me a mountain oyster and tell me it’s seafood. I know corruption when I see it, and we’re not having it.”

“Mountain oyster” is a little hard to make out, but she is referring to the colloquial country term for bull testicle.

“We cleaned up the mess and we’re growing record jobs…the lowest unemployment in Alabama history. “Alabama is working again. And that’s no bull!”

The ad will run behind a six figure buy on broadcast and cable television in the Birmingham, Huntsville, Mobile and Montgomery markets, plus cable in the Dothan market.
