Former Auburn football coach Tommy Tuberville says ‘God sent us Donald Trump’ in a new television ad for his campaign for U.S. Senate.
The ad, which is airing statewide on cable and broadcast channels, is Tuberville’s first major ad buy of the 2020 campaign. According to the Tuberville campaign, the ad had $140,000 behind it in its first week with an increasing ad budget moving forward.
The ad also shows video of Tuberville arguing with the referees during his time at Auburn, describing him as a “fighter.
“I’m really a politician’s worst nightmare. We’ve got to get the swamp cleaned out,” Tuberville says as video shows him driving a truck and praying with a high school football team.
“God sent us Donald Trump because God knew we were in trouble,”
