Chris Brinson, longtime chief of staff to U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, has joined the Washington, D.C.-based Williams & Jensen lobbying firm after departing Capitol Hill.
Brinson had served as Rogers’ chief of staff since 2015 and previously served as Rogers’ deputy chief of staff from 2003 to 2015.
“Chris’ influence on my office is immeasurable; my staff in Alabama and D.C. revere him, and without his help, I would not have successfully run for two chairmanships,” Rogers said in a statement. “I have some of the longest-serving staff on Capitol Hill and that’s in part to what Chris has done for our team.”
As a principal, Brinson will have a senior leadership role at the firm, and play a significant role in its operations, strategy and client relationships. Founded in 1970, Williams & Jensen specializes in representing clients before Congress and federal agencies to influence public policy.
“Throughout my years on the Hill, I’ve always had a deep respect for the work and the team at Williams & Jensen,” Brinson said in a statement. “I’m truly honored to now be a part of this exceptional team, and I look forward to leveraging my unique relationships and policy expertise to contribute to the continued success of the firm and our clients.”
Williams & Jensen CEO Susan Hirschmann, who’s led the firm since 2015, particularly praised Brinson’s knowledge in defense policy, given Rogers’ appointment as chair of the House Armed Services Committee, a role he’s held since 2023.
“With his extensive experience in defense policy and strategic congressional leadership, Christopher will be a tremendous asset to our clients, helping them navigate the complexities of defense policy and beyond,” Hirschmann said in a statement.
U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers last week promoted Montgomery-native Haley Wilson as his new chief of staff.
Wilson is a graduate of the University of Alabama, and had previously served in Rogers’ office as an intern and joined his team in 2012.
“Haley has served in my office for over 12 years, starting as staff assistant and working her way up to legislative director and now chief of staff,” Rogers said. “I know she will approach this new role with the same dedication and enthusiasm that she has brought to my office for years.”
In addition to serving as the chair for the House Armed Services Committee, Rogers has also served on the House committees on agriculture and homeland security.
