MONTGOMERY, Ala. – We had a good show for this week’s episode of Capitol Journal.
It aired a little later than normal due to the opening ceremonies of the Alabama State Games, so my apologies if you didn’t get that memo.
Attorney General Steve Marshall discussed several legal items, including the recent opioid settlement, what happens in Alabama if the Supreme Court overturns Roe v Wade, immigration and the driver’s license bill from the last session.
State Rep. Merika Coleman talked about the “red flag” legislation she’ll be bringing back next session, including her efforts to get Republicans involved.
Public Service Commission President Twinkle Cavanaugh explained the history of the PSC and its various regulatory roles. That’s timely as two of the three PSC seats are on the ballot in the GOP runoff.
