When I ran for reelection in 2022, I said in one of my TV ads, “Sometimes it’s like the world’s gone crazy. Thank God we live in Alabama!” That same sentiment rings true today.
When it comes to our priorities in Alabama, we simply want what is best for our families.
We want the opportunity to hold a good job.
We want our children to receive a quality education.
We want reliable infrastructure.
We want safe neighborhoods.
We want the cost of living low, our government to work efficiently and our Alabama values to
be protected.
These are the priorities of Alabama Republicans. Alabamians recognize that, which is why we will win big in the General Election November 3.
Recently, I saw some comments in the race for governor from the Democrat nominee where he questioned what Republican leadership has done for Alabama. No doubt, when I became governor on April 10, 2017, Alabama faced serious challenges. I told the people of our state, though, that despite those challenges, we could view the transition as a positive opportunity. I am proud to report we did just that, and today, Alabama is making historic gains.
We are creating record jobs. Since I have been governor, we have seen investments totaling $69 billion which has created 100,000 jobs – and counting.
We are a top state for doing business. Alabama also ranks number one for our property tax
environment and number one for overall cost of doing business. Just last week, we announced Nucor is expanding its Alabama operation. On Wednesday, I joined Hyundai in announcing a half a billion-dollar investment in their Montgomery facility.
We are breaking into new sectors with the addition of companies like Lilly Medicine. With all these developments, it should come as no surprise we attained the lowest unemployment rate in state history, and we have more people working today than ever before.
Families are also recognizing all Alabama has to offer, as we are also a top state for inbound-
migration.
With this unprecedented growth, our state revenues have also grown, allowing us to make
investments where they count, while paying off debts and avoiding proration.
We are receiving national recognition for our gains in reading and math. When I took office in 2017, we ranked dead last at 52nd in 4th grade math, and in reading, wewere not much better at 49th.
Today, we are 32nd in math and 34th in reading. We ranked first in the nation in math recovery post-covid and third in reading. We are investing more in our public schools than at any other point in our state’s history, while still providing parents the opportunity to choose the best school that suits their child’s needs.
We are not only rebuilding our state’s roads and bridges in all 67 counties, we are building out our digital highways and making historic investments in our water and sewer infrastructure.
We are fighting crime and supporting our law enforcement. And very importantly, we are protecting our Alabama values.
It is safe to say: Republican leadership in Alabama is working. As we are now heading into the final months of my term as governor, my team and I will keep working hard to ensure we are leaving Alabama better than we found it. I am proud of all we have accomplished, but there is still work ahead. Just like I said we had an opportunity in front of us in April of 2017, our next governor will have their own opportunity to build on our success. I believe we have a clear choice.
Alabamians know Coach Tommy Tuberville and know his record serving our state in the United State Senate. We also know his opponent’s record of voting with Chuck Schumer 100 percent of the time. Making judicial appointments is one of the many duties of a governor, and ensuring we have someone with a strong, conservative record making those important decisions matters.
Coach Tuberville, his children and grandchildren call Alabama home, so ensuring our state is in the best position for future generations is personal to him. I have enjoyed working with Senator Tuberville, alongside President Donald Trump, to secure wins for Alabama. From Space Command Headquarters in Huntsville to the Mobile River Bridge and Bayway project in our Gulf Coast region, the strong relationship we have forged with Washington is paying off and will be important going forward.
Fellow Alabamians, Tommy Tuberville has my official endorsement to be our next governor. So, I hope you will join me in voting for Republicans on Tuesday, November 3.
I am confident Alabama’s best days are still in front of us, and I could not be more optimistic about the future of this great state we call home.
